Laural from Mars! Friend From Mars
Crystals growing!
Laural was a little man,
Who claimed he was from Mars.
With eyes of red he watched the sky,
At night he counted stars.

They said that he was ageless,
He never got white hair!
But that's because the hat he wore
Covered a head quite bare!

He wasn't wrinkled,
His skin stayed young,
And his eyes were always glowing.
He kept some crystals in a pot,
He said that they were growing.

With brain so keen, he wasn't mean,
He loved to read your mind!
As long as you were thinking thoughts
That were generous and kind!

But if they turned ugly, vicious, or vile,
He switched to another channel
Like music or singing or games that were bringing
Back memories of the great Mickey Mantel!

And then one day he disappeared
No clue of him was found!
Friends searched for days, they tried all ways
To know where he was bound.

Laural's spaceship!
Finally a note,
left in her boat,
His friend, Nanine, did read,
"I'm going back home,
Where Martians do roam,
My place of birth, indeed!
Mars!
"But always when I think of earth,
My heart will feel an ache,
For friends like you, and Mike, and Lou,
Were the best, make no mistake!

"You taught me how to love myself,
I didn't when I came!
You pointed out my virtues,
Didn't care if I was lame!

"And when I failed at some small task,
You didn't let me whimper,
You told a joke to make me laugh,
You never lost your temper!

"So now I'm going back to Mars,
The planet of my birth,
To let all know the place to go,
They have to visit Earth!

"So if you see some spaceships
A hovering around you,
It's friends from Mars, and other stars
Who tried my map and found you!"
