Flashcard #8: What are scroll bars? Also, resizing and moving a window

Picture of Susie Tutor Susie Tutor says:
"Windows & your computer mouse are partners. Use the mouse cursor to select options, drag objects, put checks in boxes, and more."

Scroll bars help us to see part of the window that's hidden from view if the window is too small to display all the contens of the window.

You can move a window as long as it doesn't take up the whole screen.
Here's how:
  1. Left click on a part of the title bar (it's at the top of the window and displays the name of the window) with your mouse.
  2. Keep the mouse button depressed as you move the window.

You can change the size of MOST windows that don't take up the whole screen. Here's how:
  1. Run your mouse cursor along the edge of the window OR point at a corner of the window.
  2. When you see a two sided arrow, hold down the left mouse button and drag the side or corner of window to adjust it to the desired size.
  3. Release mouse button.
